The companies included in the S-Network Global Automotive IndexSM are engaged in primary automotive operations. Key defining factors of the index include:
Global. The S-Network Global Automotive IndexSM embraces automotive companies from around the world. As a result, the index reflects the different factors driving the ongoing development of the industry.
Breadth of Coverage. The S-Network Global Automotive IndexSM seeks to provide comprehensive coverage of the world’s largest automotive companies. The S-Network Global Automotive Index is a composite index and includes companies engaged in various facets of the global automotive industry, including automobile manufacturers, auto parts and equipment, and tires.
Purest Play. The S-Network Global Automotive IndexSM includes only those companies that are principally engaged in the global automotive industry. To be included in the index, a company must generate over 50% of gross revenues from the primary automobile industry.
Rules-Based. The S-Network Global Automotive IndexSM is compiled based upon a clearly defined rules-based methodology, which is overseen by an Index Committee. Little discretion is exercised in compiling the Index and a pre-defined screening protocol assures a consistent, transparent and arms-length compilation process.
